This question has come up a few times, should you pay for Canva Pro or keep to the free version?

My preference is for the pro version.

Free is perfectly serviceable but the pro version has a few things that saves time and stress, which is always something I look for!

So, I thought I’d do you a quick video to show the difference and list out the things that make life simpler.

Organisation and time saving

I love anything that can save me time and stress. Being organised about what you’re working on helps to keep it calm (not that I’m always on it but every so often, I have to get it all in order or cry into my coffee!)

Brand Kit

In the pro version, you can save your colours, logo and fonts all in one place and then any time you create a new graphic, they’re saved for you and you don’t have to search for the colour or font that you need.

Folders

In the free version, you can have 3 folders but in the pro version it’s unlimited so organising your work saves time and stress scrolling and looking for the things you’re working on.

Resizing

I use this ALL the time. Once you’ve created your design, you can just resize it for a different graphic, really really easily.

Saves a load of time in copying over and doing it manually if you have a lot of graphics to create for different social channels or content.

Fonts

There are plenty of free fonts available in Canva but with Pro, you can upload your own so you can keep everything consistent with your branding.

Photos and Images

There are 60+ million free images in pro – not always a good thing to have that much choice but saves you going to Unsplash or some other site, downloading an image and then uploading it to Canva to us it.

Templates

Lots and lots of templates. When you’re looking for inspiration, they can be very useful as a starting point.

These are the things that help me out pretty much every time I use Canva. And there are some months, like this one, where I’m using it every single day.

As I said, the free version is more than adequate but if you’re finding creating graphics a ballache and you’re doing quite a lot of them, then the pro version is worth paying for just to save a little bit of extra time!

Let me know whether you think it’s worth it as well!

Cheers,

Karrie xx
